Ajeeb Daastaans- Majnu Review: Dissatisfied wife burdened by masculine thinking
Netflix India (Netflix) has released an anthology called ‘Ajeeb Daastaans’, which has four stories. The first story is titled ‘Majnu’ ie Lover, in which actors like Jaideep Ahlawat, Fatima Sana Sheikh, Armaan Ralhan, and Arvind Pandey appear in important roles
‘Majnu’ is the story of a married couple who live in a small town in Uttar Pradesh. While Bablu (Jaideep Ahlawat) is a Bahubali, Lipakshi (Fatima Sana Sheikh) is a housewife suffering for her love. In fact, their marriage is a family deal, to which both of them have sacrificed. Bablu is not interested in women but under pressure from his father, he has to marry Lipakshi, due to which the two are not together.
‘Majnu’ is produced by director Shashank Khaitan. They have tried to show through this how women have to strangle their desires in the face of masculine thinking. Not only women but also men have to bow to the masculine thinking of society.
Director Shashank Khaitan is known for his spice films, which have given audiences such as ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ and ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’. In both these films, he tried to touch social issues but due to theatrical release he had to put too much entertainment, but through ‘Majnu’, he has shown that if the box office pressure is removed from him They can present many great stories.
