Deepika Padukone has released a statement on Monday in which she informed that she is resigning as the chairperson of the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) Film Festival. She said in her statement that she will not be able to pay as much attention to this festival as it needs. Let us tell you that in the year 2019, Aamir Khan’s wife Kiran Rao was replaced by Deepika, who was made the chairperson of MAMI.
Resigned due to busy schedule
Deepika Padukone has written in her statement- It was a very deep and rich experience to come on the board of MAMI and serve on the post of Chairperson. As an artist, it was very encouraging to bring cinema and talent from all over the world to Mumbai, which is my second home. I feel that due to my present work, I will not be able to give as much focus and attention to MAMI as it needs. I am separating from MAMI knowing that it is in the best hands and my relationship with the academy will last a lifetime
