Mithun Chakraborty, the famous veteran actor of Hindi cinema, made headlines on the screen for a long time with his performance on the screen with dance and action. He has always been the first choice of the audience for his special acting and dance. Mithun Chakraborty was born on 16 June 1950.
He did his early studies from Kolkata. He had an inclination towards acting from the very beginning. This was the reason that Mithun Chakraborty went to the Pune Film and Television Institute of India to study acting.
After a long struggle, Mithun Chakraborty made his acting debut in 1976 with Mrinal Sen’s Bengali film Mrigaya. He also received the National Film Award for Best Actor for this film and after that Mithun Chakraborty never looked back.
His Bollywood debut film was Do Anjaane. He had a very small role in this film. After this he worked in Tere Pyaar Mein, Prem Vivah, Hum Paanch, Disco Dancer, Hum Se Hai Zamana, Ghar Ek Mandir, Agneepath, Titli, Golmaal 3, Khiladi 786 and The Tashkent Files.
Apart from acting, very few people know that Mithun Chakraborty has taken expert training in martial arts and is also a black belt. Not only this, he has also won West Bengal State Wrestling. Mithun Chakraborty did not become a disco dancer like this, he was an assistant to the dancing diva Helen before venturing into films. Very few fans of Mithun Chakraborty would know that at one time ‘Chakraborty Shot’ also played in the film industry, as he used to complete the scenes in his earlier take.
This was also revealed in the year 2017 on the stage of season 6 of the TV show Dance India Dance, where Salman Khan and Mithun were present together. During this time, Salman told an interesting anecdote related to Mithun that Mithun da used to work in four shifts in a day during his struggling days. The four used to move from set to set to complete different sequences for different films.
He was able to do this because he is a smooth and complete artist in one take. In such a situation, the newcomers who used to take more time to give the shot, the filmmakers often used to give the example of Dada, asking them to give a single shot i.e. Chakraborty.
At the same time let us tell you that this is a record in itself. Mithun Chakraborty, who has won 3 National, 2 Filmfare Awards and many more awards, has worked in more than 300 films, including Hindi, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Oriya and Punjabi language films.
