Kanika Dhillon gets credit for ‘Shaadi’ in ‘Haseen Dilruba’ trailer! Taapsee Pannu and the writer gave a befitting reply
The trailer of Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey and Harshvardhan Rane’s film Haseen Dilruba was released recently. In the trailer, the name of its writer Kanika Dhillon has been given in the credit role. When the writer of the film Jai Mummy Di made a personal comment on Kanika regarding this, Taapsee called it sexist.
Recently, the trailer of the film was released on social media. After the trailer came out, Navjot Gulati, the writer of the film Jai Mummy Di tweeted – If you want to get your name included in the trailer as a screenwriter (which should be a normal process), then you should get married in a production house. When a writer becomes a member of the family, he is treated like an actor-star. With this Navjot wrote the Goals hashtag.
Kanika gave a befitting reply to this tweet of Navjot and wrote – And Mr. Navjot, because of writers like you, other writers do not get the feeling, which is their right, because like you on a step which should be welcomed by the writer community. Writers do stupid things. You should be ashamed.
On the other hand, Taapsee retweeted Kanika’s tweet and wrote – A progressive decision to give credit to writers from the age-old thinking against women to the house in which she is married turned into sexist nonsense. May the bitterness within you never overshadow your struggle to equal the credit.
Let me tell you, Kanika married Himanshu Sharma, who was the writer of Aanand L Rai’s films sometime back. Anand’s company Yellow Productions has produced Haseen Dilruba. Kanika has written films like Manmarziyaan and Judgmental Hai Kya. Vinil Mathew-directed thriller Haseen Dilruba will release on Netflix on July 2.
