Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans to star in ‘Ghosted’, an action, adventure and romance film from Apple Studios

Dexter Fletcher will direct the film, of which details about its history are kept secret.

Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans will meet again after him Marvel Cinematic Universe with Ghosted, one of the new film projects of Apple Studios. As reported Deadline, both actors are in advanced negotiations to star in this movie of romance, action and adventure to be directed by Dexter Fletcher.

Ghosted will become the tenth movie starring Evans and Johansson. After meeting for the first time on The Perfect Score in 2004, both actors later met again in Diary of a babysitter in 2006. Later came the Marvel Cinematic Universe with titles such as The Avengers (2012), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), a post-credit scene from Captain Marvel (2019) and Avengers: Endgame (2019).

This is not Evans’ first project with Apple Studios, the actor starred in the series Defend Jacob, which premiered in Apple TV+ in 2020.

At the beginning of 2021 it was announced that both interpreters were in talks to star in the ‘remake’ of The shop of horrors. Johansson would give life to Audrey and Evans to the dentist and sadistic boyfriend Orin Desk. At the moment, it is unknown whether this project is going ahead or not.

Details about the history of Ghosted are kept secret, but the script will be in charge of Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, the same behind the script of the films of Deadpool. Also from Escape from Spiderhead for Netflix. The latter, starring Chris Hemsworth, is Wernick and Reese’s most recent project and does not yet have a release date on the streaming platform.

Fletcher, meanwhile, took up behind the scenes at Rocketman, the ‘biopic’ about Elton John, and ended Bohemian Rhapsody following the firing of its original director Bryan Singer.

Johansson, who has sued Disney for the streaming premiere of Black widow, has recently signed for the new Wes Anderson film, which is filming in Chinchón (Madrid’s community). Evans, for his part, is again placed under the orders of brothers Joe and Anthony Russo – directors of Infinity War and Endgame, among others- in The Gray Man, a Netflix action-spy blockbuster starring Ryan Gosling.
