A first look at one of the most anticipated episodes of season 6, which premieres in full on Netflix on September 10.
Barely a week separates us from the premiere of the sixth and final season of Lucifer, but it is never too late to find out new details and get a small preview in the form of unpublished images which is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated episodes of the new installment of the Netflix series. The one who will put the finishing touch to history? No. The musical chapter? Either. We refer to the animated episode, which will show us the characters played by Tom Ellis and Lauren German as we have never seen them before. In true Looney Tunes style.
The episode in question, which we already got a very brief look at in the official trailer of the season 6 of Lucifer, will be the third of the final stretch of history and is titled ‘Yabba Dabba Do Me’ (6×03).
Few details are known at the plot level, but what has come to light about the expected animated chapter of Lucifer is that it has been carried out by the hand of Jennifer Coyle, the producer and supervisor of the also animated series Harley Quinn and his team of entertainers. As you can see in the images, the animated versions of the characters have similarities to the fiction about the DC Comics antiheroine, although the creator of the series Joe Henderson has not hesitated to refer to the animation style of the episode as a mix between Hanna- Barbera -the study in charge of some such legendary titles as The Flintstones O Yogi Bear– and the Looney Tunes.
And it is precisely the ‘showrunner’ of the series Joe Henderson was the main interested in developing an episode of these characteristics from the beginning. As published Collider, Henderson had been thinking about doing something similar for a while and the Covid-19 restrictions that have not affected animated projects so much have been the definitive push to fully encourage himself to join the latest fashion.
In the images, which you can see in this news, we see that it will be Chloe Decker (German) and Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) who know these new versions of themselves, although perhaps some other character will also star in the fun experience. As to what will lead them to finish in this way, the details are unknown, but we can assume that it is related to the mysterious door that we see in one of the images.
Also, despite how different the episode is, Henderson promises that it will make all the sense of the world within the story, that it will feel like an organic piece of the show as a whole: “We told them our instincts and they just blew away.” .
Season 6 of Lucifer It will consist of 10 episodes and will premiere on September 10 on Netflix.
