When Anushka Sharma opened up about getting rejected at the age of 15 based on her looks, called it “mentally damaging”
Anushka Sharma might be one of the top actresses and a successful producer. However, her journey to the top has not been without its challenges. She has had her share of struggles and rejections. In a throwback interview with a news portal in 2017, Anushka opened up about being judged based on her looks at the tender age of 15.
Spilling some beans on the same, Anushka reportedly revealed that she has faced rejection from the age of 15. She used to constantly get dropped from shows, picked for an ad, and then would get replaced.
Although she realizes now that all that is an integral part of the industry and life in general, she feels that at the tender age of 15, to be subjected and be judged purely based on how you look, can be very mentally damaging as well. According to her, it hits your self-esteem and she has dealt with it.
Elaborating further, Anushka also spoke about the indirect remarks that a producer or a casting director would make on the set. According to her, she is intelligent enough to understand what they are saying. She added that those remarks are also backed by politically correct statements.
Anushka is married to Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and is a proud mother of her baby girl, Vamika. She is currently in England with her cricketer husband for an upcoming cricket tournament.
Meanwhile, on the work front, she was last seen in Aanand L Rai’s ‘Zero’ co-starring Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. The movie received mixed reviews from the audience and the critics alike. She is yet to announce her next project.
