Choose your kind of soak
Whether you're traveling with family, seeking a quiet retreat, or looking for mineral-rich waters, Albania has a spring for you.

How to reach Albania's hot springs
Tirana is the gateway; Përmet (for Benja) is 3–4 hours south by bus or car. The Llixha springs near Elbasan are an easy hop from the capital.
Where Albania's springs cluster
- Përmet & Benja — Six stone pools in a dramatic canyon, beneath the Ottoman-era bridge — the highlight.
- Elbasan (Llixha) — Historic thermal springs with a more local, low-key feel.
Best time to visit
May–June and September–October: warm enough for the canyon pools, rivers low enough to reach them. Winter rains can flood the canyon floor.
Good to know
Benja's pools are free and have no facilities — bring everything, take everything back. The stone bridge and canyon make this a photography paradise at golden hour. Albania is very affordable; combine with the Riviera coast.
