Choose your kind of soak
Whether you're traveling with family, seeking a quiet retreat, or looking for mineral-rich waters, Brazil has a spring for you.
Brazil's 7 listings are led by Caldas Novas — one of the largest hydrothermal resorts on earth, built over a giant hot aquifer in Goiás. This is thermal water as mass entertainment, Brazilian style.
How to reach Brazil's hot springs
Goiânia is the gateway to Caldas Novas (2–3 hours); São Paulo for Poços de Caldas. Domestic flights connect the regions; the resorts are driveable.
Where Brazil's springs cluster
- Caldas Novas & Rio Quente — Enormous hot-water parks and resort complexes — a phenomenon.
- Poços de Caldas — The historic Minas Gerais spa town in volcanic crater hills.
Best time to visit
May–September is the dry season and most comfortable. Brazilian school holidays (January, July) are peak — book ahead.
Good to know
Caldas Novas is gloriously over-the-top: waterslides fed by thermal water, huge pools, live music. It's family joy, not zen — embrace it. Poços de Caldas is the quieter, historic alternative.
