How to reach Vietnam's hot springs
Ho Chi Minh City for Binh Chau (2.5 hours southeast); Hanoi for the northern springs. Domestic flights connect the regions; local buses or hired cars handle the last legs.
Where Vietnam's springs cluster
- Southeast (Binh Chau) — The classic: 70+ springs in a forest park, famous for mud baths and "boiled" eggs cooked in the source.
- North (Kim Boi) — Mountain hot springs in Hòa Bình province, popular with Hanoi weekenders.
Best time to visit
November–April is the dry season in the south; the north is best October–December. Avoid the September–November storm season on the central coast.
Good to know
Mud bathing is the local specialty — embrace it. Facilities range from rustic to resort-grade; check recent reviews. Vietnamese hot springs are social and family-oriented — expect a lively atmosphere.
