Natural springs are magical and unmanaged, which means the safety briefing is on you:
- Test before you trust. Temperatures vary by pool and season. Ease in; 40°C+ can scald.
- Keep your head dry. Don’t submerge your head in warm natural water (rare amoeba risk) and never drink it.
- Check access. Many wild springs sit on private land or need permits — confirm before you drive three hours.
- Leave no trace. Pack out everything, skip the soap (even “biodegradable”), and don’t build rock dams that alter the flow.
- Tell someone where you’re going. Remote springs plus no signal is a bad combo for surprises.
